Kevin O'Brien will personally make recommendations based upon several factors: your specific design elements, lot size and topography, water feature expectations, theme and budget. Once the terms of these initial design ideas and lot configurations are understood, pricing will be provided soon thereafter. O'Brien Pools works closely with customers to meet BOTH their design expectation as well as budget.

Soon after an agreement is reached, the O'Brien team will layout the proposed pool outline using the tools of the trade; transits, grading stakes, masons string and spray paint. No excavation will begin until the customer has approved the location and rough size of the pool and surrounding area. Last minute changes are common when the actual layout is seen full scale.
Before any digging occurs, the utility company is called in to verify that there are no underground utilities in the excavation zone. O'Brien Pools uses backhoe, Bobcat and pneumatic jackhammer equipment along with the pre-industrial age tools: pick, shovels and sledgehammers. The excavation phase typically is less than a few days depending upon the weather
The forms are constructed from wood and then the pool area is criss-crossed with re-bar (steel rods) that form the contour of the pool and reinforce the concrete. The rebar is bent and tied together with wire. The concrete is then "pressure shot" on to the rebar. The concrete is worked quickly to form the sides and bottom of the pool.
The water features and themed details are then formed and constructed in a similar manner to the pool walls. After this "base" is up, the O'Brien craftsmen work their magic. Applying cement to the base and sculpting the rock, fossils, grottos and hand-rails that make the are look like a themed water park. Final colorations are pre-mixed in the cement so that it always looks the same, for a long time to come.
The mechanicals are installed, the sealants are applied, the final linings and sliding surfaces are applied. The pool is reviewed with the customer for approval prior to the fill and test cycle. During the testing, all mechanicals are tested, the piping and joints are checked for leaks, the pumps are tested. After satisfactory testing, the chemicals are added, the pool is cleaned and the FUN BEGINS!!!
